We will be walking to the park tomorrow for baseball and lunch. We will leave at about 10:30am and return by 1:00pm.
Your child will need: -GOOD WALKING/BASEBALL SHOES -Sunscreen, if I don't have it -Any baseball supplies they can share (please make sure their names Your child will not need a lunch, unless they don't like hot dogs - in that case, they will need a bag lunch where everything can be thrown away (no heat-ups) Things are starting to get busy, so I wanted to make sure I updated you about the last two weeks.
Yes, it is the last two weeks of camp - just next week and the week after. This summer absolutely flew by, and I'm still struggling not to keep thinking of it as "mid-summer." As in, I still have five weeks to do all the things I want to do! Instead of waiting until the end of summer party to pass out t-shirts and yearbooks, I'm going to start that Monday before the party, and try to get everyone. We are tie-dying the shirts today (yikes), and we do not wear them to the waterpark, so you might see those coming home next week, too. That's all I've got! Check back for a final update maybe next week or the week after, and as always, if you need anything, let me know. Here's the upcoming events: Tuesday, August 13 - 3rd/4th/5th to the Clawson Park for a big baseball game and lunch -- we'll be cooking out there, so no lunch is needed on this day, unless your child does not like hot dogs. Your child needs TENNIS SHOES OR SNEAKERS! I am not sure if we are walking or taking a bus - right now, our expected departure is about 10:00am, and we will return by 1:30ish. If that changes, I'll let you know. Thursday, August 15 - field trip to Red Oaks Water Park. Your child will need: a bag lunch where everything can be thrown away, a bathing suit and towel, shoes that are easy to get on and off, and sunscreen (if it's not already here). Our kids are allowed to go on all three "rides" -- the wave pool, lazy river, and water slides. If you do not want your child going on something, please let me know ASAP. Friday and Monday, August 16 & August 19 - Miss Katie gone (one last trip up north before school starts...). Clawson Pool on Friday, too! Wednesday, August 21 - move out of classroom - we'll probably have a movie day while we're cleaning, packing, and cleaning more. Thursday, August 22 - End of Summer Party - pizza lunch provided! Your child will need shoes and SOCKS for the bounce house! Friday, August 23 - all camp kids together in the lunchroom (like a normal no school day). Staff that is not taking care of kids will be cleaning, packing, and moving things back to Schalm and Baker. Very sad :-( Monday, August 26-Thursday, August 29 - all care at Baker - pre-registered ONLY. If you need to sign up, check with Renay. Friday, August 30 & Monday, September 2 - Center Closed Tuesday, September 3 - first day of school for Clawson! Hi - short and sweet - check your e-mail for an important update to the movie theater field trip on Thursday.
If you did not get this e-mail, please drop me an e-mail at [email protected], because that means I don't have your preferred e-mail on file, and I need it! Basically, I need to know which move your kid wants to see (or which one you want your kid to see) before Thursday, when we go to MJR Marketplace in Sterling Heights. The choices are Despicable Me 2 or The Smurfs 2. If you do not want your child to see either of these movies, they can remain at Kenwood for a G-rated movie. If your child would like the Kidspack at the theater - popcorn, a fountain drink, and a treat (fruit snacks, I think) - it is $5. That's the only choice of concessions for the kids going, so $5 is all they need. Their ticket is paid for. My group is also having a BREAKFAST PARTY that morning and we will be having PAJAMA DAY! Nothing like wearing your jammies to the movie theater. That's the life. If you have any questions about any of this, let me know. |
